OSDP - Wiegand Converter (OSM-2400)

OSDP - Wiegand Converter (OSM-2400) Logo

Use the OSM-2400 OSDP-Wiegand Converter to adopt SIA's OSDP protocol, which is now an IEC international access control standard.

The OSM-2400 converter offers a choice of 2 operating modes: Use in PD (Peripheral Device) mode to connect a traditional Wiegand reader to an OSDP access control unit. Use in ACU (Access Control Unit) mode to connect an OSDP reader with a legacy Wiegand access controller.

Note: The OSM-2400 is the upgraded replacement for the OSM-1000, which is being discontinued (late 2022). The new OSM-2400 includes 2 LED lines in each mode (PD mode between Wiegand reader & OSDP panel; and ACU mode between OSDP reader & Wiegand panel). The OSM-2400 can operate with a single LED line or 2 LED lines, depending on the type of device it is used with.

OSDP COMSET Tool

OSDP COMSET Tool Logo

OSDP installations require configuring the device address and communication baud rate. The Cypress OTT-2100 COMSET Tool is a portable OSDP tool that makes it simple to configure OSDP devices in the field.

• Set device addresses and baud rates using DIP switches

• Three RGB LEDs display status of configuration / OSDP communication

• Listening mode is used to monitor the OSDP communication session to check if it is functioning normally

• OTT-2100 can configure device address/baud rate without knowing current settings

• Plug-and-play: Automatically switches polarity of OSDP data lines as needed

Wireless Handheld Readers (HHR Series)

Wireless Handheld Readers (HHR Series) Logo

Ditch the clipboard and reliably account for everyone evacuated in an emergency, with the Cypress Wireless Handheld Reader.

The reader interfaces with your existing access control system for use at emergency assembly points, as well as for verifying credentials at truck gates and on shuttle buses, performing random badge checks, logging staff in and out of training sessions, and even tracking staff meals.

The handheld reader may be worn by a security officer and set to perform a function such as triggering an alarm or opening a door, all at the touch of a button.

Click below for a diagram of wireless handheld readers interfacing with controllers at mustering points.

OSDP & Wiegand Data Wedge

OSDP & Wiegand Data Wedge Logo

Expected release: January 2023

The Cypress WDG-6112 Data Wedge is a USB keyboard wedge, used in enrollment reader applications to enter credential data into a computer program. For example, use the Wedge to create credential databases in site takeovers, or troubleshoot readers and credentials in the field.

Note: The WDG-6112 is an upgraded replacement for the WDG-5912, which has been discontinued. The upgraded Wedge supports both OSDP and Wiegand readers, and offers all the functionality of the previous Wedge in a smaller form factor.

The WDG-6112 connects to a card reader and a computer via the USB-C connection. When credential data is received from the reader, it is output on the computer as keyboard keystrokes in a selected text field (for example, in a spreadsheet). The Wedge can be configured to output specific credential formats as well as output any keystroke before, in the middle of, or after the credential data, such as the "enter" key.

• Works with both Wiegand and OSDP credential readers

• Plugs into computer's USB-C port to connect a reader with a computer (emulates USB keyboard)

• Simplified configuration

• Replaces the discontinued WDG-5912; note that Cypress will continue to provide any technical support that our customers may need for their WDG-5912s

Wireless Suprex® Reader-Extender (SPX-5631)

Wireless Suprex® Reader-Extender (SPX-5631) Logo

Connect readers to access controllers over a 2.4 GHz wireless connection. Typical range is 5,000 ft. line-of-sight (1524 m), depending on environmental conditions. Recommended when readers are installed across parking lots, roads, railroad tracks, or in buildings separate from the controller, as well as in settings where minimal disruption is required, such as historical buildings.

The Suprex supports LED and REX switch I/O, and has onboard relays for door strike / gate activation. The SPX-5631 supports up to 8 readers when used with EXP-2000 Expansion Pairs. Use 1 Expansion Pair for each additional reader.

Other Suprex models are available to link readers with an access control panel over Ethernet, Fiber Optic, or RS-485 2-wire, or over a long-range wireless connection. Wireless Repeaters are also available.

OSDP-to-Wiegand control panel interface (OSM-CPI)

OSDP-to-Wiegand control panel interface (OSM-CPI) Logo

The Cypress OSM-CPI is an OSDP-to-Wiegand control panel interface. This cost-effective solution retrofits a Wiegand panel to use the Security Industry Association's OSDP protocol, which is now an IEC international standard for access control.

Install the OSM-CPI interface inside a Wiegand access control panel to enable the panel to connect with an OSDP reader. The CPI panel interface receives the OSDP reader’s credential data and converts it to Wiegand. Likewise, the CPI unit translates the panel’s LED and other I/O signals to their OSDP equivalents, and sends them back to the reader.

The entire exchange of data is securely encrypted, from the data received by the reader outside of the door, to the data received inside the panel.

CE Certified.
